People
are often uncertain what Round Table is all about…we are
not a secret
society, a purely fundraising club or the local dart team!
We are a group of guys who enjoy an active social life,
having fun and supporting our local area.
Kenilworth Round Table is only one of thousands of similar
groups across the world – Table is active in over 100
countries – although each local group has its own unique
approach and outlook.
Round Table in Kenilworth
Kenilworth Round Table - or
KRT for short -
has been around for over 40 years now. We are one of the
largest tables in the UK, with around 25 active members at
present.
We meet up on the first and third Wednesday of every month
for a variety of social activities that are planned and
organised in turn by club members.
These activities can be more or less anything that someone
is able to arrange, and some of our recent events have
included Space Hopper Football, White Water Rafting, Sumo
Wrestling, Great Egg Race and a Petrolhead Night.
One thing all Tablers share is a desire to put something
back in to the communities in which we live. We do this
through fundraising and assisting in local projects.
In Kenilworth we have an active programme community and
fundraising events throughout the year. We are well known
for our annual Bonfire Gala at Kenilworth Castle, one of
the largest firework displays in the area, and at
Christmas Kenilworth residents - both young and old - look
forward to Santa visiting on his Carol Float. In
addition, we usually enter the Wellesbourne & District
Lions raft race (at a more leisurely pace), have a float
in the Kenilworth Carnival, and in March we organize a
Seniors Party for the older residents of the town!
Although Round Table is an organisation for guy’s aged 18
- 45, there are opportunities for all the family to get
involved. Many of our partners are members of our sister
organisation, Kenilworth Ladies Circle (www.kenilworthladiescircle.com),
and joint events include Ladies Night – usually a dinner
dance – as well as Challenge Nights and Safari Suppers.
For the family we hold BBQ’s and fun days, and our
children are usually involved in the Carnival Float, help
Santa on his rounds at Christmas, and earlier this year
several took part in the pantomime we put on at the
Seniors Party.
Interested in joining?
Round
Table is open to guys between 18 and 45. So there is a
regular turn-over of members and we're always looking for
new people to join.
Typically people come along to a few of our events and see
how they take to it. There's no pressure - we're all very
relaxed in Kenilworth. Those that enjoy it then join on a
more formal basis (to the extent it ever gets that
formal!). If you’re interested in finding out more please
visit our website (www.kenilworthroundtable.com)
where you’ll find further contact information.
