The first phase of a £30 million redevelopment of
Kenilworth town centre has been hailed by business
leaders and property experts in mid-Warwickshire.
The new Waitrose store in Talisman Square was unveiled
in July and is already benefiting the Kenilworth
economy.
More than 200 jobs will be created and Waitrose is
attracting shoppers from throughout Warwickshire, not
only to the new store, but also to other businesses in
the town -

Join us this half term and experience the Sport of Kings and
discover the fascinating story of falconry and how it was
enjoyed as sport in the Norman times. Enjoy spectacular
demonstrations of owls, hawks and falcons in flight.

Kenilworth Round Table Bonfire and Fireworks
The Kenilworth Fireworks Display has now become one of
the most popular public shows in the Midlands. In
recent years, more than 12,000 people have come to the
event which takes place at Kenilworth Castle with the
fireworks display being set against the historic and
dramatic backdrop of the castle. More

Switch on at 7pm
Talisman Square & Warwick Road
Father Christmas joins a host of entertainment around
the town centre, from the Mercia FM stage show with
music and fun, and charity stalls on Warwick Road,
through to childrens’ rides and street entertainers that
have proved so popular.
The fun starts from 5pm with the lights being switched
on at 7pm.
Please note, Warwick Road will shut between the Clock
Tower and Sainsbury’s at 4pm. All access to Sainsbury’s
will be maintained.

Christmas Shopping Weekend
Kenilworth Castle
While grown ups are buying Christmas gifts, exclusive to
English Heritage at a special 10% discount, kids can have
fun with Christmas story telling and seek out our reindeer
who are hiding in the site. Also enjoy musical performances
throughout the day.
Christmas Craft Market, Abbey End
Saturday November 22nd
As part of the seasonal celebrations and to reinforce
the fact that Kenilworth is open, we are running a
Christmas Craft Market on Saturday 22nd at Abbey End.
There'll be a whole host of activities on the day
including an ooompah band, treasure trails plus some
special guests.
It'll be a chance to take a wander round the new
Kenilworth, enjoy a coffee in some of the coffee shops,
or enjoy a drink and something to eat in the new pubs
and restaurants.

Festive Music and Falconry
Kenilworth Castle
Join Raphael Falconry for this special falconry event based
around the theme of Christmas and how medieval huntsmen
contributed to the supply of banquet food. They will look at
the tradition of hunting in the winter, seasonal colours and
hunting traditions, the history of Christmas birds and
festive recipes that people can take home and try. There
will be 2 flying displays, 2 themed talks, a static display
and a Christmas Star Hunt for children. Also join our
colourful minstrels Nonimus for early music and dancing with
a festive flavouring!

Abbey Fields (at the ford).
Come and join a enormous and enthusiastic crowd at the Abbey
fields ford at noon on boxing day for the Kenilworth Lions
annual Duck Race. In 2005, 5600 ducks were "sold" which
means that most of the 1500 ducks carried the hopes of 4
ticket holders. The prizes include cash for £100, £75, £50
and £25.
Buy a Duck - tickets available on the day or in various
outlets in Kenilworth through December (£1.00 each).
Happy New Year 2009!!! No events planned, just take a walk
through the crisp streets & parks of Kenilworth to clear
your head!
