The Clarendon House Hotel is situated in the centre of
Kenilworth conservation area in the heart of England. The
original timber framed 'Castle Tavern' which is incorporated
in the hotel, dates back to 1430 and to this day is still
supported by the old oak tree around which it was built.
The tavern certainly prospered
through Elizabethan times situated on the main route to
Kenilworth Castle. It was regularly used as a billet during
the 17th century for Cromwell's troops during the siege of
the castle.
During this century the
buildings were used for various functions; a factory
manufacturing horn combs and a builders merchants to name a
couple. However since 1972 it reverted to its original use.
This traditional Inn has recently been refurbished to
provide modern elegant facilities in a delightful period
setting.
Bedrooms
Whilst some of the bedrooms retain their original cottage
proportions, each is elegantly and comfortably furnished
with en-suite facilities offering satelite television,
direct dial telephones. modem/fax socket and tea/coffee
making facilities etc. There are two four-poster bedded
rooms and suite available.
Bar Brasserie
The bar and Brasserie are the very centre-piece of Clarendon
House, open all day and evening for refreshment. Whether you

something more substantial the brasserie will cater for you
